Newest Project: Revealing GriefDecided in February to start getting this ‘revealing grief’ project going. I've been planning for a while now, way before our sister passed, of researching and peeling the layers of an artistic look at grief.
My maternal family's culture of coping has always intrigued me. For years that intrigue was shaped as anger, regret, and pointing the finger. One day that anger evolved. I realized, while I longed to celebrate life as a community, I also had been trained in the tools to honor through my upbringing; as a servant leader as well as from friends turned extended family.. A shift is happening. I'm no longer bound. So, I, Asé, Asé, Asé o. To hold true to my practice of calling into the beauty of our ancestors reaching their newest realm. Thanking God for their time on earth, everyday. I'm no longer scared. I am now grateful. Would love to hear your experience in coping with grief. Grief of missed opportunity, loss of a loved one, healing, shedding habits, world famine etc. |
